Get Ready with Me: Quarantine Edition

Get Ready with Me: Quarantine Edition

Something I really took for granted before all of this started was getting ready in the morning. It always felt so good to have somewhere to go or something to do, and a legitimate reason for needing to get myself ready. Everyone’s preaching getting ready every morning, regardless of the fact that we’re quarantined, but to me, that is easier said than done. It’s tough to not want to lounge around in your pajamas all day. I mean, no one’s going to see me or know the difference if I do, right? Still, getting yourself together in the morning can help make your day feel more productive, even if all you’re doing is sitting on the couch watching Netflix or playing video games. So, I’ve partnered with Pacifica Beauty to bring you my quarantine get ready routine for those stay-at-home days when you just need a little pick-me-up.

Lately, the best feeling has been taking a nice hot shower after wearing your pajamas all day and all night.. I can’t be the only one right? The great thing about having nothing to do and nowhere to go is the fact that I can spend more time in the shower pampering myself, and taking extra care of my skin and hair. I’m talking body scrubs, hair masks, aroma therapy, the works. The scrub that I’m reaching for recently is Pacifica’s Strawberry Peach Body Scrub. It smells unreal and it does an amazing job at sloughing off dead skin to leave my body extra soft and smooth. This scrub can be used as a dry scrub before your shower or bath, or you can bring it into your shower or bath to use it more like a scrub/wash combo! It’s also not too harsh which makes it perfect for those with skin on the more sensitive side.

After I’ve spent, who knows how long, in the shower, I like to bust out a full skincare routine. We all know how many millions of products I have on rotation, but right now my skin is craving hydration. Oily skin needs to be hydrated too y’all! This Pineapple Quench Oil-Free Water Serum is the perfect balance of light and bouncy, while still packing a major punch. Obviously I gotta have hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, making this one of my go-to serums right now. And when I need an extra boost, I’ll layer on the Glow Baby Super Lit Booster Serum for a hit of brightening glycolic acid and refreshing Vitamin C.

Once I’ve applied all my lotions and potions, I like to give my hair a bit of extra love as well. Doing my hair always makes me feel more put together, which is exactly what we’re going for with all of this. I’ve proudly mastered the flat-iron curl (which I swear took me like a year to learn properly.. thanks Lisa!), making it my fave technique for achieving loose and beachy wave-like curls. After giving my hair a once-over with my straightener and curling to my liking, I like to spray a soft hold hairspray to ensure my look stays put without feeling too crunchy or solid. The Big Waves Soft Hold & Volume Hairspray also contains sea salt to give my hair some added texture and major surfer girl vibes. The cherry on top? It smells like coconut and vanilla to transport me directly to the beach. Who needs a vacation anyway? (Still me…)

To be completely honest with you, most days I don’t wear makeup. Not even my usual swipe of mascara. However, if I want to feel extra special and pulled together, I’ve been using the Highest Lash Chronic Volume Mascara. It lifts and separates my lashes to give a really nice natural look, and is formulated with hemp-derived cannabis Sativa oil and hemp fibers to add volume and length. Apply one coat for a touch of colour and definition, or layer it for a more dramatic look. Throw on a touch of lip balm and you’re good to go to take on your day (whatever that may entail)!
